When they fight, they fight

And when they come home at night they say "I love you baby".

Gahhhh New KCRW mix list thing has this Generationals song that I'm just in love with. Just wanna dance dance dance.

So apparently college kicked in this semester. I'm not even taking that many classes and yet I have very little time to do anything. Photo & photo lab: are becoming a chore and much less fun, Non-verbal Communication= love, such a fantastic class, Oceanography: also less fun lately- exam on tues. bugh. Printmaking=LOVE. Totally obsessed and now my major. We've had the most eventful semester in that class: big prints. We've done Linoleum cuts 9x12in, Wood cuts 1x2ft, Aluminum dry point intaglio 20x30in., Collographs, Chine Colle. It's just the best.

In other news:
Genny started doing rollery derby so Mum and I are going to watch their bout tonight-sooo excited. Go crash test bunnies!
Photos just make better words sometimes.

Je suis coco

So Mum and I went to see "Coco Avant Chanel" yesterday. Pure love and amazing.
I'm totally obsessed now. Then went home to watch 'The day before:Fendi" Karl Lagerfeld is god. End of story. I want to meet him more than anything in the world. Well, maybe... David Sedaris is up there too. GAH!

Anywho. My outfit today is definitely Coco inspired. I need to find
a better boatneck- but oh well!
Just some inspiration...

My Idol-image!!!

There aren't enough hours in the day to sleep and eat and carve and process photos and work and study and obsess over Karl Lagerfeld and Coco Chanel. Ahhh.

Gluten free peach crisp recipe!

This came out extremely yummy. Definitely recommend it!
The recipe came from one mom found online, but we made a few alterations here and there, so this is the Leighton version.

Pre-heat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate with butter/margarine.

Combine in bowl:
--3 cups sliced peaches-ripe, frozen, partially thawed works too. ( I used almost 4 cups instead since the slices were large-ish and I really like fruit.
--A drizzle of agave nectar as needed

In a new large bowl stir together:
--1/2 cup gluten free oats (I ended adding extra because the crumble topping seemed to not have enough oats- just go by the visual)
--2-3 Tbsp. Milk of any sort
--1/2 cup gluten free baking mix (I used Arrowhead mills brand all-purpose baking mix)
--1/2 cup brown sugar
--1 tsp cinnamon
--3 to 4 tbsp butter/margarine

Stir together the dry ingredients, butter and milk. I used long pronged forks to mix it together well without having giant chunks o butter. This is where you might need to add a bit of butter, or oats or milk to your liking.

Pour the peaches into the pie plate, cover with the crisp topping.

Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes until the crisp is browned and the peaches are bubbling.

We baked ours for 30 minutes and thought it could have maybe gone for 10 more- up to you. We also think it might be yummy with some chopped nuts added to the topping. Next time!

RRgh. Being gluten free is really frustrating.
I can totally find things to bring to work to eat for lunch, and I can make things for dinner no problem. But going out to eat is so damn frustrating.
I don't know if I'm allowed to eat 90% of things. I've only gone out once now to thai, and Im supposed to go again today to get spring rolls- but I don't know if I can eat them!!!! AGHHHHH.
Someday this will get easier.
